Well hello there!
My name is Rasmus Boserup, and I am a Danish game and web designer/programmer/guru. This blog will be my main outlet for all of my game projects, code projects, weird theories, and cake.
Currently I study at the University of Copenhagen on their Film and Media studies line. I will be finishing up there shortly with a brand new and shiny BA degree to add to my résumé. During my time there I have been doing a bunch of game design related assignments, as well as several movie projects.
I´ve also minored in psychology, so don’t even get me started on cognitive theories in regards to video games!
Microsoft Student partner
I am also one of the Danish Microsoft Student Partners (MSP). This pretty much gives me a bunch of opportunities to do what I do best as well as keeps me in the loop on what is going on in the world of technology – It´s really awesome, and you should check out the other Danish MSP sites – these guys rock!
Programming and designing
I´ve been programming for a few years now. Basically I ended up in the situation many game design wannabes do. I had tons of ideas, knew a bunch of theories, and had several games I wanted to make – but I had absolutely no coding skills. Instead of just sitting around sobbing about it I started working with C# and Microsoft XNA. After that I went on to doing ASP.Net (even though I´m still a rookie), Flash, and now I am trying to get really good at Microsoft Silverlight – you can find more about that on the blog. One of the things I love about the MSP program is that we are actively trying to help people network. For example, did you know that a bunch of programmers are actually looking for people to help them design games?! Yes it’s true. Give me a call and I might be able to hook you up so you can spend your time designing instead of having to learn to program.
Honesty
I´m sorry I wrote in the top of this page that the blog would contain info about cake. It was a lie – in truth the cake is a lie!
Danish
Some of the articles on the blog will be written in Danish, as well as the webcasts I do. It’s because those things will be aimed at the Danish developer community – so sorry to the rest of you!
