I´m in trouble – okay perhaps calling it “trouble” might be a bit of an overstatement. But the thing is that I just got hold of the preliminary Nordic Game conference program, and just like last year my brain melted trying to decide what talks I should go to – and the program isn’t even complete yet! On top of that they even turned one entire day into a career expo where I could spend a bunch of time presenting my skills to some very interesting companies, but alas, of course all of this takes place at the same time as some of the talks I would like to see.
Here are some of the talks I am thinking about going to:
Social MMO Design
Perspectives and practice in social MMO creation.
Creating Scalable and Dynamic Graphics for World in Conflict and Writing World in Conflict: Story Design for an Action-RTS.
East-West All-Stars
Comparing cultural & creative approaches to character design,
Age of Conan
Launching a virtual world.
The Birth of a Society
Democracy, economics and politics in a virtual world.
Making Games for Kids
Game design and gameplay for children.
Disruptive Design
Innovating in traditional genres & creating new niches.
Moral Hazard
Should developers take responsibility for their work?
Of course most of these talks are in the same timeslot, so I will eventually have to choose which ones I should go to – what a predicament!
I´ll try and get interviews with as many of the presenters as possible. If you have any suggestions on who I should try and talk to and what I should ask them, let me know
